What's New For the 2020 Audi A4?

The Audi A4 received a significant upgrade last year, but the automaker wasn't quite satisfied. The 2020 A4 gets a refresh, starting with the exterior appearance. The new front grille is wider and now presents a more aggressive posture. The headlights are now LED, and automatic high beams are standard on all trims. There's also a new MMI infotainment system and a 10-inch screen display that replaces the dial-controller interface. The interior dimensions and design remain unaffected, however, and that's great news for those who have enjoyed the luxurious upholstery and trim accents in past years' models.

What are the A4 Trims & Features?

The 2020 Audi A4 is offered in three distinct trims, the Premium, Premium Plus, and Prestige. The base trim Premium is very nicely equipped. It rides on 17-inch wheels, boasts automatic rain-sensing wipers, LED headlights, and heated mirrors, and it promises a comfortable ride experience for passengers thanks to such standard amenities as a sunroof, leather upholstery, heated front seats, and tri-zone automatic climate control. Bluetooth, the MMI infotainment system, and a 10-speaker audio system are also standard.

The uplevel Premium Plus adds on driver seat memory functions, satellite radio, and a virtual instrument panel. Audi Connect telematics, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and additional USB ports are also included. The Prestige trim comes with all of the package options available for the lower trims and adds on a head-up display, ambient interior lighting, and dual-pane acoustic front windows. Options include 19-inch wheels, ventilated seats, heated rear seats, and a heated steering wheel. The Prestige's entertainment options include a 19-speaker surround-sound Bang & Olufsen stereo system.

Raw Power and Stellar Performance

2020 Audi A4All three trims are available with either front-wheel or all-wheel drive. The front-wheel-drive versions are powered by a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder engine rated at 188 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque. Both engines provide quick, effortless acceleration, and with the larger engine, the A4 goes from a full stop to 60 mph in just under five and one-half seconds. Stability control is tops in this segment, and cornering is exceptionally flat with an almost total lack of body roll. The A4 comes with an engine start-stop system.
