The Audi R8, one of the most iconic sports cars, does not get substantial changes for 2021. The Performance trim brings a potent 600 HP beast to the race, rivaling some of the world's most powerful sports cars.
The Audi is equipped with some notable mechanical features, including adaptive suspension dampers, that provide a smooth ride quality for occupants while adding to the R8's performance capabilities. The first trim level in the R8 series is called the "R8." At a minimum, you'll get a 5.3L with ten cylinders and paired with an automatic transmission with a dual-clutch mechanism to help you control the gears when you want. On the base trim, the engine produces 562 HP and 400 LB-FT of torque. Both 2021 Audi R8 trims have a dazzling exterior. The entry-level trim gets LED exterior lighting all around. It also has 19-inch wheels and a power rear spoiler that automatically deploys as needed.
Automatic high beams are standard. The side mirrors are heated and have an auto-dimming feature for safety. The base trim's interior offers plush leather seats, dual-zone climate control, heated seats with a sporty design, and a wireless charging pad complete with a signal booster. The infotainment system includes Audi Connect remote telematics. It also gets Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Satellite radio is standard, along with a 13-speaker sound system by Bang & Olufsen.
The second trim in the lineup is the R8 Performance. This trim upgrades to 20-inch wheels, which comes with special performance tires, a stylish, sporty steering wheel, standard all-wheel drive, a sport-tuned suspension, laser headlights, and a carbon-fiber rear wing. It has the same engine as the base trim, but the R8 Performance engine can generate 602 HP and 413 LB-FT of torque.
