Trims and Features

Audi offers the 2018 S3 in two trim levels: the Premium Plus and the Prestige. The Premium Plus gets a wide range of standard features including 18-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, LED headlights, eight-way power front seats, a panoramic sunroof, heated leather seats, and heated power mirrors. Techwise, it receives a 10-speaker audio system, a rearview camera, Bluetooth, satellite radio, HD radio, smartphone compatibility, front and rear parking sensors, and a pop-up infotainment screen.

The Premium Plus has access to an available Technology package with a Virtual Cockpit, an upgraded MMI system with a touch-sensitive controller, native voice controls, a WiFi-enabled Audi Connect online services, a navigation system, and a 4-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system.

The contents of the Technology package are all standard on the Prestige trim. Additionally, the model adds LED rear fog lights, ambient interior lighting, a rotary dial with handwriting recognition features to the MMI system, navigation, SiriusXM real-time traffic, and a suite of active safety features.

The new S Sports package with adaptive suspension dampers and red brake calipers and a Black Optic Dynamic package consisting of a special exterior trim and 19-inch wheels are both options for the Premium Plus and Prestige models. Also, both trims can have the S Sports Seat package that brings premium leather upholstery and manually-adjustable front sports seats.

Stand-alone features include 18-inch wheels, rear-seat side airbags, and all-season tires. Drivers can also subscribe to a 4G LTE data link for the Audi Connect feature that provides Google Earth view maps plus other data-driven information.

Engine and Performance

2018 Audi S3 GrilleThe 2018 Audi S3 comes with a 2.0-liter direct-injected turbo inline-4. Combining the turbocharged responsiveness with AWD makes for a thrilling performance. The turbo-4 unit cranks out 292 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque and makes a sprint from naught to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds and goes on up to a top speed of 155 mph. A quick-shifting six-speed dual-clutch unit is the lone transmission for the 2018 S3.

The model comes with four-link torsion-beam rear suspension, a front strut suspension for the engine, and lowering springs. Audi's Drive Select system with Comfort, Auto, Dynamic, and Individual modes govern the standard electric power-assist steering and the optional adaptive magnetic-fluid dampers.

The S3 carves corners effortlessly thanks to the steering variable ratio and heavy weighting. The magnetic dampers improve ride quality by smoothing out the impact of the summer tires and the available all-season tires.
