The Audi R8 Is Back and Better Than Ever

The 2017 Audi R8 is "half race car, half pure joy machine" according to the digitaltrends.com and they aren't wrong. The R8 has the recognition and stats to prove it. Winner of the 2016 World Performance Car Award, the R8 stays true to its roots with powerful V10 and V10 plus engines. The R8 features the latest instrumentation and connectivity technology, and the premium 13-speaker Bang and Olufsen sound system rocks almost as hard as the engine. Complete with what 2017 Audi R8 reviews call an "edgier" body style, this model year continues its legacy of excellence.

A Star Inside and Out

The R8's silhouette remains similar to that of its predecessors with its low, forward-leaning stance and flowing coupe body. The 2017 brings some design changes with more horizontal body lines, wider shoulders and a trapezoidal grille. The iconic side blades have been updated to two-pieces instead of one.

Inside, the 2017 Audi R8 in Springfield resembles a racecar with the flat-bottom steering wheel, shift paddles and optional shell seats. The dash is fitted with Audi's Virtual Cockpit, a 12.3-inch screen that displays the gauge cluster, performance information, Google-maps navigation and media. The MMI navigation plus system features satellite imagery, local weather and traffic info and a WiFi hotspot.

Two Mind-Blowing Engine Options

Audi R8 buyers have a choice of either a 5.2-liter V10 or a V10 plus engine, both more powerful than ever before. The V10 generates 540 horsepower, while the V10 plus gets 610. Both are paired to a Tronic 7-speed dual-clutch automatic with manual shifting mode.

R8 is programmed with a drive select system that allows for customized steering, engine, transmission and chassis responses. Drivers can also adjust performance based on road conditions on models with V10 plus. The Quattro all-wheel-drive system provides excellent traction. 2017 Audi R8 reviews call the R8 both a great everyday car and a thrilling ride and note that the fuel economy has increased this model year.

Standard Safety Features

The 2017 Audi R8 in Springfield is designed with an aluminum and carbon fiber frame that is stronger and more robust for better hold in the event of a collision. The two front, two side thorax and two roof-mounted head-protecting airbags offer increased protection.

The R8 is also designed with an engine immobilizer, emergency braking assist, seatbelt pretensioners and excellent stability and traction control. The ignition disable device prevents the engine from starting unless the original key is being used.
